Located outside Schroeder Gate 1 of TDECU Stadium on the stadium's northeast corner, Legends Plaza is anchored by a statue of Coach Bill Yeoman, Houston's Hall of Fame Coach. The area also contains a bronze Cougar statue honoring theBrezina Boysand panels notating Houston's football history throughout the years. TDECU Stadium will open 90 minutes prior to the start of games for the general public. Cougar History: When The Cougars Were Ranked #1…
In 2015, UH outlined more stringent guidelines for future football schedules, a model that would include two non-conference games against Power Five opponents and two more from the Group of Five. The school has planned to not schedule any FCS opponents after the 2016, but unforeseen difficulties finding an opponent and the unique situation with TSU opened the door for a one-time exception. UH's current non-conference for 2018 includes road games against Rice (Sept. 1) and Texas Tech (Sept. 15) and a home date against Arizona (Sept. 8).
Homecoming at the University of Houston is a tradition dating back to 1946. As student enrollment surged following World War II, Homecoming arose as one of many traditions that enlivened the campus. Around this time the football team joined the Lone Star Conference, the marching band was organized, the first bonfire was held, and Frontier Fiesta returned. As UH continues to move forward, the homecoming court, football game, and other festivities still welcome alumni back each fall.

Houston will receive additional revenue when it joins the Big 12 next summer. Problem is, with Texas and Oklahoma planning to leave the conference no later than 2025 and probably earlier, the Big 12’s television-rights revenues are expected to fall off a cliff. Of the three that did—Texas Tech ($189,438), Kansas ($3.86 million), and West Virginia ($8.98 million)—all received far less than Houston.

Car has seen an increase in workload in his two seasons, going from 49 to 80 carries, 206 to 388 yards and 4.2 yards to 4.8 yards per carry. Carr, a transfer from Colorado, had a big performance in the 2017 spring game but it did not translate to the regular season where he had only eight rushing attempts. After playing in 11 games as a freshman, Justice saw action in only two games last season and did not have a carry all season.
The home game against Texas Southern has been moved up a week to Sept. 22, meaning the Cougars will have 12 days between the start of AAC play. While inside TDECU Stadium, Guest Services representatives will be located just inside of Schroeder Gate 1, ICON Gate 2, Gate 3 and Gate 4. In addition, the Guest Service desk is available to assist you with any questions or concerns. The Guest Services desk is located at the Northeast corner adjacent to Schroeder Gate 1 .
Fans can line up to take part in the Cougar Walk 2 hours and 15 minutes prior to kickoff. Cameras are permitted inside TDECU Stadium as long as their use does not interfere with the game or other guests' enjoyment of the event. Pictures of the game are for personal use only and may not be sold.
Now amid a changing landscape and with a conference that may just survive the loss of its anchor schools, Texas and Oklahoma, UH could be perfectly positioned for the future. For me, the nightmare memory is of rats scurrying around the old Hofheinz Pavilion. If you attended a basketball game in the building’s final two decades before it was refurbished and reborn as the Fertitta Center, you may have seen the rodents in the concourses, seating areas, or even around the court. Although they harmed no one and minded their own business while living well on discarded hot dogs, burgers, and pizza, the rats did not add to the building’s charm. In conjunction with the University of Houston's tobacco-free campus initiative, smoking, including electronic cigarettes/vaping, is not permitted on any University grounds, including TDECU Stadium.
Yurachek said filling the remaining date has been difficult with few options of teams willing to play on the road. The AAC opener is one of three non-Saturday games on the Cougars' 2018 football schedule, along with the final two games of the regular season Nov. 15 against Tulane and Nov. 23 at Memphis. Guests will be asked to remove objects from their pockets and place them on a security table prior to walking through the metal detector. To help expedite the process, guests are advised to only bring items they will absolutely need for the event. Working personnel, including media, will be subject to screening and bag inspections. Disabled Parking – Disabled Parking is available in all game day parking lots and garages. The first level of the TDECU Stadium parking garage offers convenient parking for those with a valid handicap license plate or hangtag. The charge to park on this level is $20, unless you have a Cougar Pride parking pass from any donor lot.
UH finishes the year with the brutal trip to ECU and home for Tulsa. The Cougars have played ECU for 25 years in C-USA and the AAC, and this will be only the sixth trip to Greenville in the regular season . The Cougars host Tulsa on Thanksgiving weekend, either Black Friday or Saturday .
